Bontril is an oral appetite suppressant. It should be used in association with diet, exercise, and lifestyle modification advice for the short-term management of obesity.
Bontril appetite suppressants are not a substitute for proper diet. For maximum effects, they must be used in conjunction with a diet and exercise program.
Take Bontril on an empty stomach, once daily, 30-60 minutes before breakfast. Sustained-release or long acting products must be swallowed whole. Crushing or chewing them will destroy the long action and may cause increased side effects. Take Bontril only as directed.
Some side effects are blurred vision, dizziness, dry mouth, sleeplessness, irritability, stomach upset or constipation may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to Bontril. If these effects persist or become troublesome, contact your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience chest pain, nervousness, pounding heart, difficulty urinating, mood changes, breathing difficulties or swelling while taking this medication. If Bontril makes you dizzy or lightheaded, avoid driving or engaging in activities requiring alertness.
If you miss a dose of Bontril, do not double the next dose. Instead, ignore the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Store Bontril at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children. |
